Wreck sends three to hospital
By Linda Green

A McDuffie County woman turning into her driveway Tuesday evening was surprised as a truck came up out of the ditch and hit her.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Jeannette Herrington, was turning her 2012 Chevy Traverse into her 2508 Wrens Highway driveway when she was hit by a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Phillip Anderson, of Thomson,
According to GSP Trooper David Osborne, Anderson, traveling north on Highway 17, was behind a silver Ford Expedition that slammed on brakes. Anderson went off the road and into the ditch to avoid hitting the SUV and not knowing that Herrington was turning in front of the Expedition, came up from the ditch, striking the Traverse on the right side. The impact pushed the Traverse into a concrete driveway column, knocking down one-half of a portion of the fence behind it.
