• Dollar General in Warrenton robbed at gunpoint
By Linda Green

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has joined the Warrenton Sheriff’s Office and Police Department in searching for a gunman who robbed a retail store Monday morning.
An employee of the Dollar General on Quaker Road was at the store at 8 a.m. preparing to open for business when an individual came in and robbed her at gunpoint.
According to GBI Agent Ron Braxley, the perpetrator got away with an undetermined amount of money.
Questions about description, race of the suspect and how many may have been involved are being investigated by law enforcement. “No suspect has been identified,” Braxley said.
Warren County Chief Deputy Sheriff Sammy Purvis said that he and fellow officers first thought that the suspect fled in a red vehicle and they spent much of the morning searching for it. “We couldn’t find it,” he said.
