Seven boaters receive citations over holiday
By Linda Green

A man boating under the influence and a man wanted for arson were among those arrested over the July 4 weekend by local law enforcement.
Beatmon James Crosby, 28, of the 5100 block of Iron Hill Road in Dearing, was one of seven boaters charged with boating under the influence on Clarks Hill Lake. He was arrested by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division on July 6 after he was stopped for reckless driving. He was stopped just after the fireworks show near Big Hart Park, said Sgt. Mack Garthright of the Thomson office of DNR.
The officer said that rangers from his office issued seven tickets to boaters driving under the influence during the holiday weekend.
