Car crosses centerline and causes crash
By Jim Wallace

Two people were rushed to the trauma center in Augusta, one by helicopter, the morning of May 22, after a crash on Warrenton Highway.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the two-vehicle accident occurred just before 10:40 a.m. on a straight stretch of road in front of Shaw Industries.
Cpl. Rich Fishel said Michelle S. Milford, 58, of Beechwood Drive, was driving a Chrysler Sebring east and drifted into the westbound lanes, striking a Lincoln LS. The Chrysler and the Lincoln, which was driven by Lameisha Q. Johnson, 26, of Warrenton, both sustained heavy damage.
McDuffie County Fire Rescue Service along with EMS, McDuffie and Warren county sheriff’s offices assisted at the scene.
Warrenton Highway was closed and traffic rerouted, as Milford was airlifted to GRMC. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to Fishel.
A spokesperson at the medical center said Tuesday that Milford was listed in good condition.
Johnson was transported by ambulance to Georgia Regents Medical Center. She was treated and released the day of the accident said the spokesperson.
Kristen Reese, of Martinez, said she was driving west on Warrenton Highway and saw the accident. She said Milford had drifted into the center (turning) lane.
