Bulldogs compete in state final golf

More than 100 high school golfers competed at Belle Meade Country Club May 19.
Players from 15 high schools dueled in the Georgia High School Association Class AAA Boys Golf State Championship at the 6,533 yard, par 72 course.
Thomson High School Golf Coach Chris Hodges said the Thomson team finished in 13th place. Alex Hyman shot 77, Turner Gilliam shot 80, Caleb Washington shot 82 and Alex Gilliam shot 98 for a team score of 337.
North Oconee won the championship with a 302, followed by Oconee County's 304. Christopher Harris of St. Pius X was low medalist with a 3-under par 69. University of Georgia commit David Mackey of North Oconee finished runner-up with a round of 70.
