THS boys soccer fall short in OT playoff thriller

Two 40-minute halves wasn't enough to decide a winner in the boys first round state soccer playoff match that pitted Thomson High School (5-8, 3-3) against Pierce County High School, but two five-minute overtimes were as THS fell 3-2.
"One shot beat us," said Coach Brad Adams.
The match, which was hosted at The Brickyard on May 1, started off with a scoreless first half of play. THS' goalie, Trevor Harrington, made two big stops on PCHS shot attempts that came with less than a minute to go in the first half.
"He [Herrington] played great," said Adams. "He was a warrior. One of the best players on the team and he gave it his all."
However, the second half was a much different story. The first goal of the game, scored by PCHS, was knocked in at the 28:35 mark.
THS then got hit with a tripping penalty at the 10:43 mark of the second half which left PCHS with a penalty kicked on which they capitalized and
