• Bikes Galore: Cycles and bikes aplenty in Warrenton
By Linda Green

Under a cloudless blue sky, riders propelled by leg power and motor power set off Saturday morning to ride miles in a fundraiser to buy books for children, infants to preschool, in Warren County.
Thirty-three cyclists and 70 bikers on 47 motorcycles raised their kickstands for the third annual Bikes Galore in Warrenton.
“We are here to raise money for books for children, zero to five, so that they know what books are before they go to school and be better prepared for school,” said Cindy Rivers, events coordinator for the Warren County Chamber of Commerce.
The May 3 event combined the 9th annual Cycle Tour and the 11th annual Back Roads and Bikes Poker Run, for Bikes Galore.
Rivers said the events were held on the same day for the comfort of the riders so that no one would be too hot or too cold as in past years. “We wanted them to have a glorious time,” she said.
