• TMMS’ successful soccer season
By Greg Derry

The TMMS boys soccer team wrapped up their 2014 campaign on April 3 at The Brickyard against Oglethorpe County Middle School with a 3-0 loss.
The team ended its season with a 3-5 record, which at face value does not reflect the growth and progress of this squad since the team roster was first posted back in January.
In the absence of any sort of regional or divisional title to pursue, team goals have to be more than simply winning soccer matches. As a feeder for the growing Thomson High School soccer program, the goals heading into the season were to improve overall cardiovascular fitness, improve individual ball handling skills and develop a full field vision of team tactics and strategy, all while instilling a unified sense of team pride that comes with wearing a Thomson 'T' on your chest.
