Warren County school board votes to censure two members
By Brian Bowden

At the regularly scheduled Warren County Board of Education meeting on Monday night, a 3-to-2 vote passed twice to censure board members Charles Culver and Cecil Brown.
Both board members' censuring was voted on separately.
The censuring stems from recent allegations by Superintendent Carol Jean Carey that both were making false accusations toward her and the administration, casting her in a false light and reporting false information. Carey also presented a letter of concern from AdvancED (SACS), the school's accreditation agency, which she read aloud for the board to take into consideration before voting. The letter outlined the concern over Culver and Brown's recent comments and actions.
"I think the board just needs to be aware that AdvancED is monitoring us. They have been monitoring us, that is ongoing," said Carey. "They do have concerns with what's going on now with governance and they expect us to handle it."
