• Celebration ushers in spring break as Maxwell "roars"
By Linda Green

The last day of classes before spring break was a celebration for the students at J.A. Maxwell Elementary School.
The students, teachers, parents and other family members spread out over the lawn at the school on Friday to celebrate the accomplishments made during the third nine weeks grading period.
Students were honored for academics, behavior, attitude and perfect attendance during a R.O.A.R.S. festival that included basketball players, cheerleaders, bands, arts, animals doing tricks, face painting, music and other activities. Max the Lion, Amber Frankenfield, Miss TMMS and Gena Cody, Miss THS, also greeted the students.
“It is tremendous accomplishment for the perfect attendance because every virus that you can think of has come through Maxwell,” said Principal Donna Bennett as she addressed the crowd.
