• Bulldogs lead region
By Jim Wallace

The Thomson Bulldogs took the Region 3-AAA lead with two region baseball wins.
Thomson, 11-3, 4-0, began the week by defeating Class AA Westside 3-2 Tuesday in Augusta.
Morgan Hyde had the big hit for Thomson with a two out, RBI single that scored two runs.
On Friday, the Diamond Dogs won 6-5 at home against Jefferson County. Thomson committed three errors and both teams had eight hits.
Hyde had the game ending play for the Dogs.
“They singled up the middle and a player tried to score from second and he threw him out,” said Hall, terming both close victories exciting for the fans and nerve-wracking for the coaches.
