Johnny Brooks
Mr. Johnny Brooks, 84, of Thomson, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Gibson Health & Rehab.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. J.B. Redd officiating.
Mr. Brooks was native of McDuffie County. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Cason Brooks, Gibson, and Donald (Sandra) Brooks, Thomson; two daughters, Patsy (Bubba) Hunt, Thomson and Brenda (Ronnie) Cranford, Thomson; one sister, Doris Rooks; 9 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.

Patricia L. Christy
Patricia L. Christy, 75, of Lincolnton, died Sun., Mar. 16, 2014.
Funeral services were Wed., Mar. 19, 2014, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.

Austin "Eli" Clark
Austin "Eli" Clark, 26, of Lincolnton, entered into rest on Thursday, March 13th.
Funeral services were held on Sat., Mar. 15th at Lincolnton Baptist Church. Interment followed in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.

Louise Coffey
Louise Coffey, 89, of Harlem, wife of the late Mr. Milton Coffey, entered into rest Fri., Mar. 14, 2014.
Funeral services were held Wed., Mar. 19, 2014 in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home Tues., Mar. 18, 2014.

Sue Mock Hale
Mrs. Sue Stanley Mock Hale, 86, of Warrenton, entered into rest March 15, 2014. She was the widow of the late Carl B.Mock, Sr. and the late Malcolm Hale.
Funeral services were held Wed., Mar. 19, 2014 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson with Rev. Susannah Davis and Rev. Jerry Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood.
Mrs. Hale was a lifelong resident of Warren County, GA and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Carrie Stanley. She was retired from Citizens Bank, Warrenton after many years of service. Mrs. Hale was a faithful and devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Warrenton and a member of the Sara Clary Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Warrenton Garden Club.
Survivors include her son, Carl Brice Mock, Jr. and wife, Mary of Warrenton, GA; sister, Louree Elrod and husband, Wade of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Alison M. Cushman and husband, Ray and Carla M. Neal and husband, Wayne and great grandchild, Addison Rae Cushman.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Warrenton.
The family received friends Tues., March 18 at the funeral home.

Bobbie L. Holloway, 88, of Thomson, widow of Mr. Harvey Holloway, died Sat., Mar. 15, 2014.

Ann Alexander Phillips
Mrs. Ann Alexander Phillips, 94, of Thomson, entered into rest March 13, 2014 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of the late William Phillips.
Graveside services were held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Westview Cemetery, Thomson with Rev. John Barnes officiating.
Mrs. Phillips was a native of Pickens County, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Robert Alexander and the late Betty Gant Alexander. She taught school at Liberty Elementary and retired after 35 years of service. Mrs. Phillips was a loving mother and enjoyed gardening and working with arts and crafts. She was a member of Norris Baptist Church in Norris, South Carolina.
Survivors include her son, Tim Phillips and wife, Sally and grandchildren, Will Phillips and Sarah Ann Phillips all of Thomson, Georgia.

Dorothy “Dot” Whitener
Dorothy ”Dot” M. (Tankersley) Whitener,75, of Thomson, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Jack Wesley Whitener; loving mother of Mary Ann (David) Land, Julie (Tim) O'Rourke, Wesley Whitener, and Daniel (Kelly) Whitener; proud grandmother of Ashley, Riley , Cole, Carson, Levi, and Hudson; sister of Mary Dunaway , Billy (Wanda) Tankersley, Buddy Tankersley, and Frank Tankersley. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Effie Clara Tankersley.
Dot was a well-known business woman in the community for over 40 years, having owned/operated several video rental stores in the 80's and 90's and owner of Whitener Accounting, which she started in 1970. She enjoyed working with families in the community during tax time every year, spending time with her kids and grandkids, her annual family trip to Myrtle Beach each summer, spending time at the lake, visiting the mountains in the fall, and planting a flower garden in her yard every spring.
Friends and family were received Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 20, 2014 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Williford officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.
