Lady Bucs finish strong, tournament bound
By Brian Bowden

Head Coach Keith Johnson and his Briarwood varsity girls basketball team put an end to regular season play by beating the Lady Knights of Windsor, 75-42, Feb. 11 and the Lady Rams of Mon Don, 60-45, Monday night.
The Lady Bucs (24-2) won both region games on the road and won their last six heading into the region tournament in Macon tonight.
"It's encouraging that all my girls are getting involved going into region play," said Johnson. "I think defensively we're playing as good as we've played all year."
Offensively against the Lady Knights, senior Malia Kency put up 24 points and senior Tiffany Pate put up 16. "We kind of blew it open by halftime," said Johnson. "Then I rested my starters a little bit." Also contributing for the Lady Bucs was Kylie Guy with nine, Cameron Stadler and Kate Wells with four apiece, Kaycie Kersey with three, Maggie Graham and Brianna Hudson with two apiece and Lilly Cushman with one. "She [Guy] has been on a roll," said Johnson about Guy's performance the last few games.
