The Thomson Bulldog football schedule is official and has some interesting twists and turns to it.
Thomson High School head football coach and athletic director Milan Turner shared the schedule Tuesday.
Things kick off Aug. 15 with a scrimmage at the Evans Knights. The regular season starts with five non-region games for the 7-AAAA Dogs. THS will be in this classification for two years until realignment comes up again.
Jefferson County visits The Brickyard Aug. 22, followed the next Friday with a trip to Washington Co. After a Sept. 5 open date, Thomson faces Hart County and travels to Washington-Wilkes for a neighborly battle.
After another open date, Sept. 26, there is a non-region clash with Burke County at Thomson.
“Playing Burke County in Week 5 as a non-conference game and then facing them in the region in Week 12 was a decision that I, Burke County athletic director Wade Marchman and head football coach Eric Parker made,” said Turner.
