Community helpers were on parade Thursday at a Thomson church.
Nearly 50 youngsters at First Baptist Church in Thomson Cornerstone Preschool participated in the Community Helpers Program and learned a lot about those who work in the area.
Alice Gary, Cornerstone director, coordinated the annual event and said she was thankful for the people taking the time to visit. Some of speakers even visited on their day off.
The youngsters, aged 1 through 4 years old, met with personnel from: Thomson Police Department, Capt. Jamie Bridges, K9 Officer Keith Smith and K99 Fredy; Thomson-McDuffie County Library, Suzan Harris; City of Thomson Natural Gas Department, Dir. Chuck Cason, asst. dir. Rodney Dunaway, welder Treless Robinson and equipment operator Jonathan Hadden; McDuffie County Fire-Rescue Service, Lt. Ed Lewis, Capt. Ron May, Firefighter Richard Few and Firefighter Dustin Thurmond; and Hannah Rodriquez and Tres from McDuffie Animal Hospital.
