After a win over rival Gatewood last week, the Briarwood girls varsity basketball team continued their flawless play as they beat Central Fellowship Christian Academy, Piedmont and Windsor to move their win streak to 14 consecutive games.
Two of the three wins, CFCA and Windsor, were regional opponents and helped the Lady Bucs (16-1) continue their unbeaten play in the region.
On Friday night, the Briarwood girls traveled to Macon and beat the Lady Lancers of CFCA, 58-45. Although the score, on paper, looked close, it was anything but. The Lady Bucs dominated offensively, as well as defensively, the first half of the game, outscoring their opponent 34-17. Near the halfway point of the third quarter, Head Coach Keith Johnson, right on cue, let up on his full-court press of the Lady Lancers and took his starters out as he has done all season long. Although Briarwood outscored CFCA in the third, 21-13, in the fourth CFCA got the better of them, 15-3.
