A Thomson young man has been rewarded for the contributions he has made to the Boy Scouts of America.
The journey of Jonathan W. Rosier, 18, was applauded as he was named an Eagle Scout on Jan. 11.
In a special ceremony that included participation from Boy Scout district leaders, Boy Scout Troop 316, other Eagle Scouts, his parents, friends and relatives, Rosier was recognized for the accumulation of his efforts in scouting.
“I earned this,” Rosier said. “It is a huge honor. I have been working toward this since I was five years old. I am very happy to reach this point.”
The Eagle Scout is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America. It is a prominent recognition and only 10 percent of Boy Scouts achieve the advancement. “Some of the highest people in our government have received this award,” he said.
