For almost four hours, 19 members of the Thomson Fire Department fought a fire and tried to salvage as much as possible at a home on Robin Street Saturday night.
Thomson Fire Rescue arrived at 634 Robin Street to find heavy smoke and fire at the rear and right-side of the single-story house.
“There was extensive damage throughout the house. It was almost a total loss,” said Fire Chief Rick Sewell.
He said that the 9:30 p.m. fire appeared to have started in a rear bedroom, but the cause has not been determined.
