The Briarwood boys varsity basketball team (2-10) lost two tough games at home on back-to-back nights as they opened up region play against the Lancers of Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Jan. 10.
The second game, on Jan. 11, was a non-region game against the Crusaders of Curtis Baptist.
In both games, the Runnin’ Bucs struggled offensively as they have all season long. “We’re just offensively challenged,” said Head Coach Bo Fleming.
Against CFCA, in which the final score was 67-44 in favor of the Lancers, they were outscored in the first quarter 21-10 and in the second 17-5. “We got off to a slow start,” said Fleming.
Briarwood’s leading scorers in the game against CFCA were Dakota Reese with 20 and Jackson Sims with 18. “That was great games by those guys, we just have to put more around them,” said Fleming.
