It was good news and bad news on the hardwood as the Thomson Lady Dogs split two recent games.
In its first region game of the season, Jan. 3, THS defeated Jefferson County 40 – 26 at home.
Alesheia Johnson led Thomson with 14 points while Jazmin Howard and Jaylan Howard contributed with 7 each for the Lady Dogs.
“From the beginning of the game, we disrupted the offensive flow of the Jefferson County guards with the application of constant full-court pressure,” said Thomson Head Coach Michael Williams. “Offensively when we did not have fast-break opportunities, the girls played with poise and executed all the offensive sets called. All positions played well and if we can continue to play well defensively we can do well in region play.”
Things didn’t go THS’ way the next night as the Lady Dogs tumbled against Westside High School 60-40.
