• Murder suspects plead not guilty

Three men charged with malice murder in McDuffie County in 2012 and 2013 pled not guilty in arraignment court Tuesday.
The men were among the 86 people entering pleas in the court of Superior Court Judge Harold Hinesley.
James Ethiredge McGuyton and Rondoe James Hutson, plead not guilty for the Thanksgiving 2012 murder of Kenneth Seek, Jr., whose body was found in a wooded area near Marshall Church Road.
Winston Orlando Smith, who was charged with the Jan. 26, 2013 murder of Jonathan Curry, also plead not guilty. Curry was found dead in the kitchen of a house on Pounds Street in Thomson with a gunshot wound.
Hinesley heard pleas on charges ranging from child molestation, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana possession, check card fraud, bad checks, theft by taking, theft by shoplifting, forgery, burglary, robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving under the influence and obstruction. He also issued bench warrants to several individuals who failed to appear in court.
