• Child’s broken legs leads to cruelty charges
By Linda Green

After a six-month old child arrived at University Hospital McDuffie with two broken legs Friday evening the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were contacted and now a Dearing man is in jail.
According to GBI Agent Ron Braxley, the GBI was called to assist the sheriff’s office in the case after authorities were suspicious of the injuries the child had after a man and his mother brought the child to the hospital.
