The Briarwood girls varsity basketball team scored 70 plus points for a second straight game and secured its sixth win in a row against the Lady Patriots of Nathanael Greene Academy, 73-33. "We didn't press at all and my two girls had big nights," said Head Coach Keith Johnson. The Lady Bucs (8-1) beat NGA by 41 points back in November, near the beginning of the season, and completed almost identical work against them again Monday night. The lopsided wins continue to pile up for Johnson and his team as they plow through their competition. They have outscored their opponents 553-322 in their eight wins this season.
Offensively Monday night, the Lady Bucs had nine players put up points. Leading the way were Johnson's two dominate starting seniors Malia Kency and Tiffany Pate. Kency had 27 points, 9 from 3-point land, and went a perfect 2-for-2 from the line while Pate had 24.
