“That is so beautiful.” “Will you look at that?” “I want something like that in my home.” “These are some wonderful Christmas decorations.”
Those phrases and others like them were constant declarations made by the 75 men and women who toured five homes in Thomson and McDuffie County Saturday night.
The tourists gathered at the Thomson-McDuffie Government Center for a 5 p.m. reception to get acquainted before embarking on the approximately three-hour 2013 Tour of Homes, an annual holiday event organized by the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce.
Each shuttle had a different route, but at times the buses were at a home at the same time. The busses and individual cars ferried people across the city and county to stops on Twin Pines Road, Scuffle Road, Ginger Hill Road, Lee Street and Milledge Street. At the destinations, tourists looked through homes and ate Christmas cookies and drank hot cider.
