Underneath calls of congratulations, clapping and cheering, one Thomson postal employee retired after 32 years as a carrier and another was recognized for his postal and federal service.
Brenda Finch, whose last day as a rural postal carrier was Saturday, Nov. 23, was honored for 28 years of working with the Thomson Post Office and for her 32 years in total as a carrier in both Thomson and Warrenton.
Surrounded by her postal colleagues on Friday, Nov. 22, Finch received an award from Postmaster Paula Fuller and then posed for final pictures during an informal ceremony at the Thomson Post Office.
Fuller said Finch has been a tremendous asset to the postal service.
