A converted wing of a local senior care facility was welcomed to Thomson and McDuffie County Wednesday.
A ribbon was cut for the opening of the Sub Acute Rehabilitation Unit of Thomson Health and Rehabilitation.
City and county leaders, members of the chamber of commerce, members of the healthcare and rehabilitation industry, and health and rehab employees witnessed the ribbon cutting that also welcomed Thomson Health and Rehabilitation, at 511 Mt. Pleasant Road, into the chamber of commerce.
According to Jacqueline Pittman, nursing home administrator, the remodeled wing provides a place where people can recuperate once they are released from the hospital. “Hopefully we can rehab them so they can go back home,” she said.
