• Students could win cash and iPad in Red Ribbon decorating contest
By LInda Green

Students across McDuffie County have an opportunity throughout October to win $1,000 for their school and an iPad for their use at home by expressing being drug free.
The students, with their families, are encouraged to decorate their front door, the mailbox or the fence illustrating “A Healthy Me is Drug Free,” which is the theme of the national drug prevention campaign.
The 28th annual Red Ribbon Week is Oct. 23 through Oct. 31 and the National Family Partnership has launched its month-long national contest. Ten families across America will win the money for schools and iPads for personal use.
The campaign is for prevention of drug and alcohol abuse by youth and McDuffie students are encouraged to participate in the national contest to help carry the Red Ribbon message into their communities.
