A Saturday event will seek to highlight infant mortality awareness.
From 9 a.m. to noon, infant mortality awareness will be stressed at the event on Main Street between Norris Elementary School and the McDuffie County Board of Education building.
A commemorative walk of children in strollers will be at 9 a.m., and there will be educational information available on child health and safety issues.
Events planned are: face painting, games and food, along with children choirs and dancers, said Debra A. Griffin, community health education coordinator for Enterprise Community Healthy Start.
“The community of McDuffie County and Thomson Mayor Kenneth Usry will dedicate September 21 to 37 babies that have died in the last 10 years in McDuffie County,” said Griffin.
