David Anthony Annis, Jr., 29, of Dearing, husband of Evelyn S. Annis, entered in rest on Sept. 7, 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 14, at the residence of Bob & Tammy Bowling in Dearing.
Starling Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Donnie Bolton
Donnie Blackstone Bolton, 85, of Gibson, entered into rest on Sat., Sept. 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 11, at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Interment will be in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 10, at the funeral home.

Theo Patricia Lamb Grimaud
Theo Patricia Lamb Grimaud, of Washington, Ga., was called home on Mon., Sept. 9, 2013.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew Wortham Grimaud, Sr.; daughters, Amanda Grimaud Jackson and husband Tim of Tignall, Ga., Joy Grimaud Cartledge and husband James of Evans, Ga.; a son, Andrew Wortham Grimaud, Jr. and wife Nora of Thomson, Ga.; sister, Runnette Lamb Smith and husband Jackie of Harlem, Ga.; grandchildren, Chase Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Katie Cartledge Scarboro (Jason), Jake Cartledge, Bryce Cartledge, Alecia Grimaud, Drew Grimaud and Andy Grimaud; great grandchildren, Carson Ivey Scarboro, Waylon James Scarboro, G. W. Walden and Ella Grace Walden.
Funeral services will be held on Wed., Sept. 11, at First Baptist Church of Washington, 105 West Robert Toombs Ave., Washington, Ga. 30673 at 11 a.m. with graveside services to be held at Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Hoyt Marion Higdon
Hoyt Marion Higdon, 86, of Noble Street in Thomson, Ga., passed away on Sept. 12, 2013.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 13, at Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson, Ga. A graveside service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 14, at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington, Ga. with Rev. Albert W. Huyck officiating.
Hoyt was born in Warren County, Ga. on Nov. 24, 1926 to Hobert McKinley Higdon and Gertrude Dunn Higdon.
Hoyt attended school in Thomson before going to work in the Brunswick Shipyards at the age of 17 after attaining his certified welder status. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1944 until his enlistment in the Army in 1945. Hoyt was a World War II Veteran serving with the occupational forces in France, Germany, and Belgium. After the war, he served as Superintendent of the City of Washington Street Department for 28 years retiring in December of 1988. Hoyt was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomson where he was a member of the Menís Bible Class. He was also a member of VFW Post 5899, a Past Master of Lafayette Masonic Lodge #23, and a Shriner.
Hoyt was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Newell Tiller Higdon. He and Frances lived in Washington, Ga. for 42 years where they raised two sons, Duane and Danny Higdon.
Hoyt is survived by his spouse, Lucille Perdue Higdon of Thomson, Ga. where they have lived since their marriage in 1998; sons, Hoyt Duane Higdon and wife Connie, Danny Marion Higdon and wife Felicia; granddaughters, Lacy Bennett, Alex Higdon, Michal Higdon, Kendall Higdon; and great granddaughter, Emma Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, 1101 15th Street, Augusta, Ga. 30901. The family wishes to thank the staff of the nursing home for the excellent treatment and care that Mr. Higdon received during his stay.

Amanda Nicole Powell, 25, of Grovetown, daughter of Charles E. Sr. and Diane Jean Powell, entered in rest on Sun., Sept. 8, 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 11, at Starling Funeral Home in Harlem.

Stephanie Thaxton
Stephanie F. Thaxton, of Harlem, mother of Daniel, Michael, Alex, Jasper, Odessa, Oditte & Olivia, entered into rest on Sept. 9, 2013.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 12, at Ft. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Dearing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Valerie Ann Young, 45, of Thomson, wife of Scott Young, entered into rest on Tues., Sept. 10, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 12, at Curtis Funeral Home in Thomson.
