Janice Clements
Janice Irene Barrow Clements, 64, of Matthews, wife of Harold T. Clements, passed away on Tues., Sept. 3, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 5, at James Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends on Wed., Sept. 4, at the funeral home.

Judy Ellis
Judith “Judy” Ousley Ellis, 69, of Beechtree Acres Road in Gibson, Ga., entered into rest on Tues., Sept. 3, 2013, at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 6, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Gunn officiating. Interment to follow in the Sallie Hill Cemetery of Warrenton.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Hollywood, Fla. to the late James Edward Ousley and the late Ellen Shaw Ousley. She had lived in Gibson for twenty years after moving from Rockledge, Fla. Mrs. Ellis had worked as an LPN at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation and Gibson Health and Rehabilitation and in the nursing field for over forty years. She was an Episcopalian.
Survivors include her loving husband, Larry Ellis; sons, Johnny Gardella and wife Leslie, Jeffrey Gardella and wife Susan, Jason Gardella and wife Stacy, Ronnie Ellis and wife Kristina, Mike Jackson; daughters, Tina Ellis, Beth Ellis; brother, James E. Ousley, Jr; sisters, Sandra Ellen Ousley, Joyce Ousley Andrzejewski; grandchildren, Brittani Gardella, Chase Gardella, Bryce Gardella, Josh Gardella, Cody Gardella, Hayden Gardella, Gavin Gardella, Tina Struk, Courtney Ellis, Brian Jackson and James Ellis.
The family requests donations be made to: The Alzheimer’s Association, 106 Srp Drive, Evans, Ga. 30809.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jeff Gheesling
Jeffery Wayne “Jeff” Gheesling, 53, of Forrest Clary Drive in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Mon., Sept. 2, 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 4, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Bowers officiating.
Mr. Gheesling was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Ga. and was a 1978 graduate of Thomson High School. He was a former employee of Georgia Iron Works in the casting department and also worked as a prison guard. Mr. Gheesling was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Young Gheesling; daughter, Melissa Gheesling; father, Alton Gheesling; mother, Lynda Parris Gheesling; stepson, Michael Greene; stepdaughter, Tiffany Greene; brother, Alan Gheesling and his wife Jennie; five grandchildren; one nephew; and two nieces.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Donations may be made in Jeff’s memory to American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Association.

Eldridge Hillman
Eldridge Hillman, 70, of Thomson, husband of Peggy Hillman, died on Fri., Aug. 30, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri., Sept. 6, at Faith Baptist Church & Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 5, at Curtis Funeral Home.

Peggy Hillman
Peggy Hillman, 67, of Thomson, wife of Eldridge Hillman, died on Tues., Sept. 3, 2013.

Jackie Hiott
Jackie Sue “MeMa” Hiott, 78, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Sept. 4, 2013.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 7, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Piedmont, S.C. with Rev. Terry Rainey officiating.
Mrs. Hiott was born in Pelzer, S.C. and was the daughter of the late Tad League and the late Gaynelle Allen League. She had lived in Thomson, Ga. since 1967. Mrs. Hiott was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Hiott, Lynn Hiott, Wendy H. Tapley (Dennis); son, Curt Hiott; sister, Betty Ann Elrod; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hiott was preceded in death by her husband, Prue Hiott; son, Gary Lewis “Tater” Hiott; and daughter, Julie Elder.
Friends may call at the Second Chance Independent Church, 1152 Hillcrest Drive, Thomson, Ga. or the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Ramona Stribling
Ramona Willis "Rae" Stribling, 81, of Lincolnton, wife of William "Rabbit" Stribling, entered into rest on Sun., Sept. 1, 2013.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 3, at Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton.
Per her request, no memorial services will be held.

Rosalind Talbert
Georgia Rosalind Reese Talbert, 88, of Washington, died on Sept. 3, 2013.
Graveside services will be held on Fri., Sept. 6, at 4 p.m. at Overbrook Cemetery in McCormick, S.C. The family will receive friends following the service.
Arrangements are in the care of Hopkins Funeral Home.

Major Thomas Nolan Tillman, Sr.
USAF, Retired
Major Thomas Nolan Tillman, Sr., USAF, Retired, 84, of Gary Usry Rd. in Gibson, Ga., entered into rest on Sept. 2, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Sept. 5, at the Sweetwater Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Tillman and Rev. Grant Cantrell officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class, Deacons of Sweetwater, Ken Richards, James Biles and Lavell Webb. Interment will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Tillman was born in Dover, N.C. to the late Claude C. Tillman and the late Annie Padrick Tillman. He attended the University of Georgia until the Korean Conflict and joined the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country as a fighter pilot. Following the war, he served as a Flight Instructor. He continued his service during the Vietnam Era and retired in 1972 as a Major. Mr. Tillman was a former member of the Singing Americans and was the founder and former President of the Lowndes County High School Viking Booster Club. He served as minister of music for many churches including Second Baptist Church. He was a faithful and devoted member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. Mr. Tillman was an avid outdoorsman and fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Frances Usry Tillman; sons, Thomas Tillman, Jr. and wife Barbara, James M. Tillman, Alan Tillman and wife Patricia, Troy Scott Tillman and wife Penny; daughter, Jean Michelle Sheffer and husband Matt; stepsons, Stan Usry and wife Debra, Craig Usry and wife Vicky; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Tillman was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Burton Tillman; a sister; and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 4, at the funeral home.
