Terry Johnson, Sr.
Funeral services for Terry Terrell Johnson, Sr., 41, of Thomson, will be held on Fri., Aug. 30, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Thomson. Interment will be in Stoney Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Warrenton.
Thomson Funeral System is handling the arrangements.

Ernestine Lazenby
Funeral services for Ernestine Bae-Mae Lazenby, 67, of Thomson, will be held on Fri., Aug. 30, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Thomson. Interment will be in the Lazenby Family Cemetery.

Burton L. Smith
Burton L. Smith, 87, of Thomson, Ga., formerly of Montgomery, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Mon., Aug. 26, 2013, surrounded by his family. Born in Nashua, Iowa in 1926, he was a graduate of the University of Iowa. Burr was a local businessman and a partner of W.A. Volpe Insurance Company. He was a man that was larger than life, loved the outdoors, and the one people called on when hard work had to be done in the name of righteousness, peace, and humanity. Mr. Smith was proud of his service to his country as a member of Patton’s 3rd Army, 6th Armored Division. He also served the families of the Valley Central School District on the Board of Education and Board of BOCES. In addition, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery.
Burr was met in Heaven by his daughter, Betsy Sullivan; his sister, Alyce Rasmussen; and parents, William & Hazel Smith. He leaves behind on earth his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn: his children, Randy Smith (Debbie) of Stafford, Va., Susan Power (Robert) of Malvern, Pa., Ellen Knudsen of Thomson, Ga. and Gainesville, Fla., Sarah Cocks (Paul) of Walden, N.Y., David Smith (Renee) of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Catherine Smith of Waxhaw, N.C.; plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We thank God, for giving him to us for a little while in this world.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Montgomery.
Those wishing to remember him are invited to make a donation to the Woodland Garden project of the Orange County Parks Department. Donations should be made payable to the Friends of the OC Arboretum and mailed to 211 Route 416, Montgomery, N.Y. 12549.

Willie Turner
Willie "Bill" Turner, of Washington, father of Billy Turner, passed away on Wed., Aug. 21, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 28, at New Salem Baptist Church & Cemetery.
