Through the kindheartedness of the local Walmart, McDuffie County Fire and Rescue received a $1,000 donation to benefit public education on July 22.
The money will go toward the purchase of fire safety and prevention materials.
“The donation from Walmart is extremely helpful to the fire safety program,” said Lt. Ed Lewis, fire and life safety instructor for the McDuffie County fire department. The money goes towards items such as coloring books, fire hats, firefighter badges, fake smoke, items to go into the fire safety house, and much more.
