Local citizens made a difference by giving hope to those in need by donating blood last week.
The American Red Cross held a blood drive at First Baptist Church of Thomson’s Fellowship Hall on July 23 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This Red Cross branch traveled from Columbia, S.C. to seek out generous donors to give blood.
The American Red Cross Blood Services, being the largest blood collection organization in the United States, collects approximately 6.5 million units of blood each year.
Every donation saves lives, and the need for blood during the summer months is much greater according to the Red Cross.
