The Dearing couple waiting to adopt a child from Africa received some good news but they need the community’s help to make seven years of working and planning a reality.
“We would like people to know that although it was our decision to adopt and therefore our responsibility to come up with the money, we need a little help,” said Melissa Marques, who along with husband David, have been matched with a child from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and need $10,000 to bring it home.
The couple had been trying to adopt a child from Ghana but the African nation suspended all international adoptions in May.
The Marques were devastated because their seven years of attempting to adopt was in jeopardy.
