A gospel sing will benefit a Thomson mans effort for a liver transplant.
Old Frontier will host the Big Tent Gospel Sing from 4-9 p.m., Saturday June 15 at the campgrounds on Old Milledgeville Road, according to Chris Smith, Old Frontier president.
The event will benefit Jimmy Williams, who was diagnosed with liver problems in 2010, after it was discovered that diabetic medication over a nearly 30-year span had damaged his liver. He has been going back and forth to Charleston S.C.s Medical University of South Carolina to visit with the transplant team.
He will get a liver transplant sometime, and we felt it was time to have a gospel sing at the camp, said Smith, who is coordinating the event with others in the area.
