• Marshals search for fugitive in Thomson
By Linda Green

The McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office and the Thomson Police Department assisted the United States Marshals Service in the attempt to capture a fugitive on Monday.
The U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Southern District of Georgia contacted both law enforcement offices on Sunday for assistance in locating Washington, D.C. fugitive James Edward Brown Jr.
“We, along with the City of Thomson Police Department, assisted in locating the individual,” said Sheriff Logan Marshall.
He said the marshals service asked for help because they were unfamiliar with the area since their investigation to locate Brown was bringing them to McDuffie County Monday morning.
