Lillie Mae Aycock
Lillie Mae Aycock, of Goett Road in Dearing, Ga., entered into rest on May 21, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri., May 24, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Lee Scroggins officiating.
Ms. Aycock was a native of Albany, Ga. and lived in Dearing for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, Aubrey Howell; daughters, Barbara McDonald (Ricky), Sarah Christian (Freddie), Glenda Howell, Karen Barker; brothers, Bill Parrish, Paul Parrish; sisters, Mary Lee Peters, Minnie Smith, Mary Ann Lunsford; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

John Floyd, Jr.
John W. Floyd, Jr., 83, of Harlem, husband of Betty Jean Floyd, entered into rest on Wed., May 22, 2013.
Visitation will be held on Thurs., May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Starling Funeral Home.
Arrangements are being handled by Starling Funeral Home.

John Jackson
Funeral services for John Jackson, 84, of Thomson, will be held on Thurs., May 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Greater Saint James A.M.E. Church in Thomson. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery.
A wake service will be held on Wed., May 22, from 6-7 p.m.
Thomson Funeral System is handling the arrangements.

Thelma Lewis
Thelma Antoinette Lewis, 35, of Augusta, daughter of Ethel Smith and Rayford Lewis, died on Tues., May 21, 2013.
A wake will be held on Fri., May 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Thomson Funeral System Chapel in Thomson. Funeral services and interment will be in Dale, Texas.

Maggie Prickett
Maggie Ruth Bryant Prickett, 87, of Wrens, wife of the late George Franklin Prickett, entered into rest on Mon., May 20, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thurs., May 23, at James Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wed., May 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sam Sturgis
Funeral services for Sam Sturgis, of Thomson, husband of Lillie Sturgis, will be held on Fri., May 24, 2013, at 12 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at 11 a.m. Internment will be in Westview Cemetery.
D.T. Brown Memorial Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Walter Templeton, Jr.
Walter Alexander Templeton, Jr., 65, of Matthews, husband of Cherylyn Elizabeth Norton Templeton, entered into rest on May 20, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., May 23, at Wrens Church of God. Interment: church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wed., May 22, at James Funeral Home.

Gail Brown Wing
Gail Brown Wing, 66, formerly of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on May 15, 2013 at her residence in Clanton, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.W. Brown, Jr. and Pearl W. Brown.
Mrs. Wing was a 1965 graduate of Thomson High School, where she earned the honor of Star Student. She received a B.S. in Education from the University of Georgia and went on to have a career in teaching, bookkeeping and real estate.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph S. Wing; daughters, DeDe Schofield (Lee), Lisa Perdue (Isem), all of Clanton and daughter, Jolie Anderson (Bryan) of Fort Worth, Texas; also a sister, Emily B. Holland of Suwanee, Ga. and a brother, Tommy Brown (Christy) of Thomson. She is also survived by four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sun., May 19, at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton. Interment services were held on Mon., May 20, in the Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Ala.
