The shepherds of the different flocks from across McDuffie County were reminded Monday that it is okay to have a Sabbath day.
Although God’s commandment is to keep the Sabbath holy, it is often difficult for pastors working in a faith tradition that observes its day of rest on Sunday.
Sunday is oftentimes the business day of the week for pastors who provide spiritual food to their congregations. They also spend the week responding to the needs and demand of others so much that they neglect to set aside a day of rest to be in the presence of God.
“The Sabbath is a gift from God to focus on ourselves,” said the Rev. David Lambert, pastor of First Baptist Church in Thomson.
