Friday, May 10 at 1:15 p.m. will be a day Torrie Battle remembers.
The THS football standout signed a scholarship document of acceptance to become a Bluefield (Va.) College Ram in the fall.
Surrounded by family and friends, coaches and cake and sodas, Battle was all smiles as he reflected on his tenure as a Thomson Bulldog and his advancement to the college level.
“Today, I signed a full scholarship to play football for Bluefield College. I am pretty happy about it,” the graduating senior said. “I get to further my education and continue my football career.”
Battle noted that football has been a constant in his life and he finds it enjoyable.
“I give thanks to God for the contributions I have made to THS’ football program over the last four years,” he said. “I also give thanks to my daddy for conditioning me at home and my coach for conditioning me at school. Hard work really pays off.”
