Willie Boyd
Willie Fred Putt Boyd, 69, of Harlem, father of Emily Robinson and Nadia Samuels, entered into rest on Thurs., May 2, 2013.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Wed., May 8, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn C.M.E. Church & Cemetery in Harlem.
Thomson Funeral System is handling the arrangements.

Virginia Jones
Funeral services for Virginia Sturgis Jones, 61, of Douglasville, formerly of Thomson, will be held on Fri., May 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Thomson. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery.
Thomson Funeral System is handling the arrangements.

Polly Velma Kight
Polly Velma Kight, 79, of Forest Hills Drive in Winfield Community in Appling, Ga., entered into rest on May 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., May 9, at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kight was born in Scott, Ga. and was the daughter of the late Thomas Watson Horton and the late Velma Lee Ivey Horton. She had lived in Appling for 28 years after coming from Jackson, S.C. Mrs. Kight was a homemaker and a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Cecil Kight; sons, Mark Kight and wife Linda of Flowery Branch, Ga., James Cecil Kight and wife Cyndi of Lakeland, Fla., and Bruce Edwin Kight of Aiken, S.C.; sister, Louise Kuykendall of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock p.m. on Wed., May 8, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to: Columbia County Cares, 1959 Appling-Harlem Highway, Appling, Georgia 30802.
Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Montgomery
Robert Owen Montgomery, 66, of Warrenton, died on Tues., May 7, 2013.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lowe Funeral Home.

Nelson L. “Bunkey” Wilson, Jr.
Nelson L. “Bunkey” Wilson, Jr., 84, of Swainsboro, Ga., entered into rest on May 6, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., May 11, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Cadle officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wilson was born in Unicoi, Tenn. and was the son of the late Nelson L. Wilson., Sr. and the late Cleo Lamons Wilson. He grew up in Thomson, Ga. and lived in Swainsboro most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Wilson International Enterprises since 1964. Mr. Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomson.
Survivors include his sons, Rodney Wilson (Julie) of Stillmore, Gary Wilson (Chrissy) of Swainsboro; and grandchildren, Ashlee Wilson Hawn, Lauren Ann Wilson and Rodney Julian Wilson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Kim Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
