• Kiwanis donates to West Texas Kiwanians, elects officers

Service is the centerpiece of the Kiwanis Club of Thomson and on Monday the organization promoted righteousness and goodwill as it collected money to benefit the Kiwanis Club of West Texas.
On April 17 the West Fertilizer Plant in West, Texas exploded at approximately 7:53 p.m. and 12 first responders died. Media broadcasts have shown a sign welcoming people to the town by the Kiwanis Club in West Texas
Donald Cernosek, the president of the Kiwanis Club in West Texas, and his wife Paula, live 500 yards from the fertilizer plant. They, along with others in the town of 2,700 people, were evacuated and it has been nine days since the Cernosek’s have seen their home.
