People from several churches participated in a Crosswalk on Good Friday, carrying a cross from Thomson First United Methodist Church to First Baptist Church of Thomson.
The event began with a devotional at the Methodist church.
The Rev. Beverly Casstevens, encouraged those gathered to remember Christ’s sacrifice.
“The cross is a symbol of great torture,” she said. “It is a symbol of oppression … It is also a symbol of unbounded love.”
