• Dogs’ bats produce two strong wins on the diamond
By Jim Wallace, Correspondent

Thomson Bulldog bats rattled loudly in wins over the Washington County Golden Hawks and Washington-Wilkes Tigers this week.
On Tuesday, the Dogs defeated the Hawks 14-6 in a region road win. The next night, THS won 8-1 over the Tigers in Washington.
The Bulldogs scored five runs in the first inning against the Hawks and then erupted for six more in the sixth. Washington scored all of their runs in the sixth inning.
“We struggled a little bit and brought the kids in and told them they needed to respond and they came up in the sixth and hit the ball,” said Aaron Hall, THS head coach. “Washington made some costly mistakes and we did a good job of answering that they did.”
