• New Harmonies opens Friday at McDuffie Museum

Residents of McDuffie County will have the opportunity to explore and celebrate American music and its roots by visiting the six-week traveling showcase called “New Harmonies” at the McDuffie Museum.
New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music will be held March 29 through May 11. The Smithsonian traveling exhibit features the early traditions, history, culture and origins of American music and also reflect Thomson’s musical heritage. The showcase includes African American spirituals, Gullah, the stylings of Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan and music from various periods in American history and culture, and music of today.
The March 29 grand opening of New Harmonies will feature a prize-winning author and a not to be missed jazz concert.
