Personal safety and the safety of her two young children sent Angelique Desario into the McDuffie County Probate Office to apply for a gun permit to carry a concealed weapon on Monday morning.
I feel like I could be a very easy target because they are always with me whenever I go shopping and loading them into the car and taking them out. I pay as much attention as I can to my surroundings but with two small children, who are three and one, it is really hard, she said. I just want to be prepared. It is a crazy world out here.
Desario is an example of those paying $89.25 for a five-year permit to carry a gun on their person from the office of Judge Valerie Burley.
