• Kiwanis treated to ‘High Sheriff’ overview

The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of McDuffie County and is responsible for enforcing mandates from the state.
The sheriff is responsible for law enforcement duties, courts and the jail, said McDuffie County Sheriff’s Major Ronnie Williamson.
Williamson, McDuffie County Sheriff Logan Marshall and 911 Communications Director Tracy Neal provided the Kiwanis Club of Thomson with an overview of the office of High Sheriff, its responsibilities and vision as they used theme shows and slogans of historic television characters that carried the badge to illustrate the message.
