The leadership role of the new pope of the Roman Catholic Church will be in trying to develop oneness with the people, said the head of the Catholic Church in Thomson.
“I am excited to see him lead the church into a new venture to bring the gospel to the world and help the church bring it to the world,” said Father William “Bill” Williams, leader of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church, as he spoke of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, who was elected March 13 as the 266th pontiff.
Williams said the two previous popes tried to develop the faith formation of the church and tried to help people understand Catholic belief and traditions of faith.
