Neighboring Lincoln County took a close game from the Thomson High School Diamond Dogs at Bulldog Field Wednesday.
The 9-8 win by the Red Devils at the wind-swept field flipped the 9-8 win by Thomson in February.
The visitors outhit the Dogs 10-8 and Thomson committed three errors to one for the Red Devils.
“Our kids played hard and started out hot,” said Aaron Hall, THS head coach. “In the middle of the game we tend to go to sleep and want to wake back up. When it’s the sixth or seventh inning, we want to score runs.”
Lincoln County scored three runs in the top of the first inning and Thomson matched with three runs of its own.
