Despite a strong showing at the plate Tuesday afternoon, the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers still came up short —losing 13-11 to Nathaniel Greene Academy.
The Bucs delivered 14 hits but were unable to overcome an early surge by the Patriots.
Nathaniel Greene posted three runs in the opening inning then followed with a grand slam home run in the second.
“That’s the first grand slam that’s ever been hit on our field,” said Briarwood Coach Kevin Cowart.
