• School board awards insurance duties to Ricketson

Thursday night the McDuffie County School Board awarded a $180,583 contract for insurance to WRM, provided through Ricketson Insurance.
The Ricketson bid was the lowest of three full bids received. A proposal by Joesbury for Zurich Insurance carried a price of $205,110. A proposal from GSBA (Georgia School Boards Association) was priced at $184,270.
Watson and Knox Insurance submitted a partial bid but since it did not fully cover what was requested the bid was not considered. The bid only contained quotes for two line items — Boiler and Machinery, and Property.
